Biologics differ fundamentally from small-molecule medicines in terms of their complexity, manufacturing methods, and regulatory requirements. Their development requires specialized expertise in cell culture, protein purification, analytical characterization, and immunogenicity assessment.  <\/p>\n<p>For studies involving biologics, CROs must develop specific capabilities: temperature-controlled supply chains for sensitive products, specialized storage facilities, and trained personnel for complex handling procedures. Immunogenicity assessment is a critical aspect that requires specialized assay development and regulatory expertise. The development of biosimilars presents additional challenges and requires extensive comparability studies.  <\/p>\n<p>Emerging areas such as gene therapies, cell therapies, and mRNA-based therapeutics require highly specialized infrastructure and regulatory expertise.
